The Beginning or the End

by

We humans are so fragile. We have a limited span of life. Like the Bible says we are like grass or flowers that wither and die after a short period time on earth (James 1:11). These bodies cannot last for eternity because of the fall. Sin entered the world after Adam and Eve decided to follow their own way. That was the beginning of the whole creation’s groaning for redemption.

Maybe the bodies of Adam and Eve were made imperishable in the beginning, but now they are a temporary tent we dwell in for our lifetime. After death, we will be planted like a seed, and when we sprout up again, we will look nothing like the old body that we owned. We will be imperishable. We will be glorious (Phil. 3:21). Our redeemed bodies will shine like the stars in the presence of Jesus forever and ever.

The waiting period is draining. Don’t you agree? To see loved ones unresponsive and frail, to feel the decay of our own bodies, and to slowly lose the acuity of our mind are unnerving. Wisdom, the Bible says, increases with years – for most folks, if I may add. Our bodies decay, our minds lose their sharpness, and we get ready for the glorious day of meeting our Lord and Savior.

Till He returns or calls us home, let us stand in the love of Christ. Amen.

God bless you and your loved ones!
