God is Good

God is good all the time. All the time, God is good. The first time I heard this sentence was in the movie, “God’s NOT Dead.” Since then I repeat it whenever I need to hear it. It gives me a sense of peace. If God orchestrates all the events in my life, I will be OK because He is good all the time.

Of course, there are many times I don’t remember this: dealing with my father’s condition under Alzheimer’s, policies that might affect whether I will have a job as a teacher at my school, and worries about my family or life in general, etc. Basically, my amnesia occurs when I desperately need to remember His goodness.

It is critical that I have a constant reminder that He is good and He will do right by me. That’s why I keep my eyes on His second coming. He promised it and will not break his promise. He said it in Revelation: “I’m coming soon” (Rev. 22:12). That is what I fix my heart on.

All the pain, struggle, and dissatisfaction will have an eternal happy ending soon. I can rest in this promise. I don’t need to fear.

All is well; all will be well in the presence of my Savior because of His goodness and mercy.
