I was born and raised in Turkey. When I was 23, I came to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar to get a second M.A. from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I fell in love with the Land of the Free, so I decided to make the United States my home.
I have three degrees: a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Hacettepe University in Turkey, and another M.A. in Teaching English to the Speakers of Other Languages from SIU-C. I have been an English teacher since 1991, and I have taught at high schools, colleges, and language schools both in Turkey and in the United States.
I have been living in Arizona for over 20 years. I am enjoying life with my loving husband, amazing daughter, crazy cat, and playful puppy.
